Extracting the juice is super easy. We offer 4 options, so you can choose according to your preferences but also to the tools you have at home.

With the extractor

Do we have an extractor at home? Perfect. Then just put the pomegranate kernels in the bowl, after removing all the white parts that have a bitter taste. You run the machine for a few minutes and the juice is ready.

How to make pomegranate juice without an extractor

If we do not have an extractor, no problem! In fact, both a blender and a mixer are perfectly fine. Again, you pour the grains of the fruit into the bowl and run the appliance for a few minutes. There is one more step, however: since the result is a rather thick mixture, also containing the seeds, it must be strained through a fine-mesh strainer.

With a potato masher

Well, yes: pomegranate juice can also be made with a simple potato masher! Of course, you need a little elbow grease and something is lost, but the result is still satisfactory. We recommend putting in the beans a little at a time, otherwise the operation becomes even more laborious.

With the masher

We can also use the masher. Two recommendations: place it at a bowl and insert a disc with small holes.

Whichever method we choose, to enrich the flavor of our pomegranate juice we can add the juice of half a lemon. It is not necessary to put sugar, but it also depends on personal taste. The important thing is not to overdo the amount so as not to alter the taste of the fruit.

How to store pomegranate juice

The juice made from pomegranate can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days, but it is preferable to use a container that can be closed. A glass bottle is fine.

How to use it

A nice glass of pomegranate juice is always a great idea. But if we have made plenty of it, we can use it in other ways as well. For example, to make really original and irresistible desserts such as cheesecake.

To enjoy pomegranate even out of season, however, we can make jelly-a delicious preserve-or homemade pomegranate liqueur, which is also fantastic as a gift idea. Other ideas? Let's use pomegranate juice to enrich a fruit salad, yogurt (white or fruit), our smoothies or a ricotta cream.

Aperitif with pomegranate juice

Called Tintoretto, it is a cousin of the more famous Bellini: it is a cocktail made with filtered pomegranate juice and prosecco, the proportions are 1/3 and 2/3 respectively. It is poured into glasses with ice, gently stirred and that's it.

There is also a Spritz version, which is made by mixing equal parts pomegranate juice and Aperol, plus half as much prosecco and lime juice. But this delicious juice also goes great with soda, vodka, orange juice, and gin. Unleash your imagination and test the barlady or bartender in you!
